Tameka Flemming, Founder & President

Tameka Flemming currently resides in Lancaster, Texas. She is a wife and the mother of a beautiful daughter. Tameka is an active member of the Church of Christ. She is a graduate of Texas Woman’s University and currently works in the accounting department for an Aviation Insurance Company.

Tameka’s desire to help others and positively influence the young encouraged her to develop the Girls of Virtue Inc. Prior to starting this organization she worked with young girls through various church youth groups. Tameka has developed programs to encourage, influence and motivate girls from the ages of 2 through 22. She has been a teacher, mentor and counselor where she had the opportunity to develop lesson plans, create skits, and organized field trips. It is Tameka’s dream to see the Girls of Virtue organization in communities throughout the Nation.

Kenya Harvey, Director of Volunteers

Kenya Harvey is a school teacher with Dallas ISD. She is the chair of the Sunshine Committee on her campus and is involved with many other committees. Kenya has also assisted with care groups in her church congregation. She is the president of the Lady’s Loving Literature Book Club.

Kenya holds a degree in psychology from Texas Woman’s University. She is the mother of a darling little girl. Being a school teacher and a mother has give Kenya the insight on why a program of this magnitude is so important. She is very excited about being a part of The Girls of Virtue.

Mashalle Thompson, Administration

Shalle_s_Web_shot_1MaShalle Thompson is a native of Dallas, TX. She currently resides in Lancaster, TX with her husband and two children. MaShalle is an active member of the Church of Christ. She works on various program committees, teaches the primary children’s bible classes and also helped develop and coordinate the church nursery.

MaShalle is a graduate of the University of North Texas with a Bachelors of Business Administration. She has been referenced for her versatility and ability to work well with others. MaShalle is also known for her creative spirit. She began working with youth alongside her husband in his beginning stages as a youth counselor and youth minister.

MaShalle’s volunteer background includes the local YMCA (cheer coach), Habitat for Humanity and the Denton Housing Authority (Mentor). Her goals are to pursue her Master’s degree and also to continue to be a Godly influence in the lives of others through her works and by the example that she sets.

Demetria Cameron was born, raised and still resides in Dallas, TX. She is the mother of one and works as a Customer Service Rep II for Sedgwick CMS. She is a graduate of Skyline High School, where she majored in Computer Information Systems. Upon completing high school, Demetria went on to further her education at El Centro College and UT Arlington, where she majored in web design and mass communications. She has been a member of the Mountain View Church of Christ for 12 years, and has assisted in coordinating various events for the congregation and surrounding community. Currently, she is pursuing her BAAS in Organizational Development and looking to gain certification in event planning (CMP). Demetria had served as a volunteer with Girls of Virtue for some time before deciding to take on dual roles as a Mentor and Program Coordinator. Not only does Demetria love the purpose and goals of Girls of Virtue, but she is truly passionate about helping to make the events bigger and better each time. Demetria’s hope and prayer is to be a source of inspiration by her words and a leader by her example.

Jessica Hamilton is a Brooklyn, NY native who now resides in Dallas, TX. She is a graduate of Southwestern Christian College, where she received her Associates in English and Abilene Christian University, where she received her Bachelors of Science in Journalism and English. Jessica is an active member of the Mountain View Church of Christ and participates in many ministries there.

Currently, Jessica is a freelance editor for a media company and has edited books, articles and other literature in her spare time. Her passion is to make sure every literary “i” is dotted and every “t” is crossed. Jessica’s keen eye for detail assisted in her decision to pursue editing opportunities. She serves as Editor-in-Chief for the Girls of Virtue organization.

Jessica’s belief is that the Girls of Virtue organization is an excellent source for knowledge, both spiritual and person growth and encouragement that every young lady should tap into. She believes in the vision and mission of the organization and feels that it is needed, especially in a society where many influences mold the minds of young people. G.O.V. is the positive influence that can help young ladies in the community to reach their fullest potential.

Kiva T. Wilks is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas and her Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Kiva has worked with indigent persons in the Dallas area for the last 10 years. Her background includes mental health, substance abuse, domestic violence, victim assistance, adoption and HIV/AIDS. She is an adjunct professor in the School of Social Work at UTA and is a Social Work Manager at Parkland Health and Hospital Systems.

One of her favorite populations to work with is African-American adolescent girls. She is interested in providing a safe place for the members of Girls of Virtue to discuss ongoing concerns/issues. She hopes these groups will assist in ensuring the members are emotionally healthy and that families are communicating effectively.

Sandra McCall is a Senior Auditor for the Office of Inspector General, U.S. Department of Agriculture. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas. Sandra has a Masters in Business Administration and a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Amberton University in Garland and the University of Arkansas, respectively. She is the mother of one adult daughter and one grandson, who both reside in Arkansas.

Sandra is a member of the Beckley Heights Church of Christ and volunteers with the Girls of Virtue because she believes in the mission of the organization and how it helps to fulfill the Bible’s commandment that “the older women teach the younger women.” She serves as the organization’s Director of Finance.
